Slowly life is returning to normal here. With the exception of a stiff, sometimes sore, ankle and moving more slowly life is returning to where it was 2 months ago today before I walked out my front door and went boom. The sun has been shining all weekend and today the forecast says the hi temp will be in the 60s. I hope winter is finally gone for good from here. Though our winters here never get the 3 feet of snow like other parts of the country got this year, we had a lot more snow and ice than we've had in the almost 12 years I've lived here. It was like adding insult to my injury! I'm getting rid of the extra pillows I was using to prop my foot up and to sleep with. I finally put my bath rugs back down last night in the master bath. Today I'll put that boot from hell and the sticks of doom into the far corner of the closet out of my sight. I started showering standing up again the very next morning after my doctor said I was cleared to walk. Boy did that felt good. Those sitting showers got cold with me sitting there wet while the shower head was being used hand held and not beating down my back. I did notice that my back skin was a lot less dry this winter, but I'd rather have a slightly itchy back then shivering in the shower! I have PT on Tuesday and Friday this week. That may be it for me. I start doing adoptions again on Saturday and then will pick up the Tuesdays again. I'm still working Fridays from home. Gives my ankle and my car a break. This Friday I'll be letting the pest control guys back in because I found new termite damage on the frame of one of the kitchen windows. I'm 99% sure it wasn't there before. Hopefully this isn't something I'll have to pay for since I'm under a termite bond now after the treatment last year. Problem is that the frame is damaged. I have peeled enough of the paint to see how bad the damage is. Damn termites. Go chew on someone else's house! Like my neighbors next door that I don't like that play their damn music with the bass up so high my windows vibrate.
